Chris Q, in three frames.

Chris knows what it means to rebuild a career in a new country, because he has done it himself. Twice.

Originally from the Philippines, Chris qualified as a civil engineer before moving first to Ireland and then to the UK, where he changed direction entirely and entered the law. He worked his way up from paralegal to trainee solicitor under the mentorship of Lawyery co-founder Crystal Dias, and qualified as a solicitor.

That path gives him something no textbook can: a first-hand understanding of the immigrant professional's experience, from requalification and sponsorship to bringing family over and settling for good. It is one reason so many of his clients are healthcare professionals, doctors, nurses and allied health workers navigating the Skilled Worker and Health and Care routes, their settlement, and their families' reunification.

Advocacy first

Chris has a particular passion for appeals and advocacy. After a refusal the route depends on the decision: some carry a right of appeal to the First-tier Tribunal, others only administrative review, and some can be challenged only by judicial review. Chris advises on which applies, and where there is an appeal he argues it himself before the First-tier and Upper Tribunal, and in the lower courts, so the person who prepared your case is also the person who presents it.

Based at Lawyery's Slough branch, Chris serves the Thames Valley and the wider Filipino community, advising in English, Tagalog and Illocano. He combines empathy with practicality: clients get a realistic assessment, then a fight worth having.

I came here as an immigrant professional myself. When I stand up for a client, I know exactly what is at stake.
