Crystal Dias

Crystal built her practice around the people the legal system serves worst: families in crisis, migrant workers, survivors of trafficking, and nurses whose careers and visas are threatened at the same time. She co-founded Lawyery to serve them better.

Admitted as a solicitor in 2003 after studying at SOAS University of London, Crystal has spent more than two decades in family law and personal immigration. Her caseload spans divorce and separation, financial remedy, child arrangements and domestic violence support, alongside spouse and children's visas, domestic worker matters, and modern slavery and human trafficking cases, a field in which she is a recognised specialist.

She also defends nurses in NMC fitness to practise proceedings, work that grew out of her advocacy for Filipino healthcare workers and now forms a distinctive part of the firm's employment practice. For a sponsored nurse, a regulatory referral is an immigration problem as much as a professional one, and Crystal handles both together.

Community and recognition

Crystal is a Trustee of the Filipino Women's Association and was named one of the 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World by the Filipina Women's Network. She regularly assists the Migrant Workers Office of the Philippine Embassy and is an active advocate for migrant and women's rights in the UK and internationally.

Her recognition includes winning Boutique Legal Firm of the Year in 2023, a shortlisting for the Law Society Legal Heroes Award, reaching the final of the Women Influence Power in Law Award, the Human Rights Champion award from Ladies of All Nations International, and the Megaworld International Global Achievers Award. She has been nominated for both Solicitor of the Year and Mentor of the Year, the latter reflecting a genuine commitment: she has mentored several of Lawyery's own solicitors, including Chris Quebral, who trained under her guidance from paralegal to qualified solicitor.
